Yoga to the People

Ah, yoga.

If you had asked me a year ago if I liked yoga, I would have greeted that question with a big ole chuckle. Had I tried it? Yes. Multiple times. But, I never could really get into it.

And, forget about finding my “center.”

During those 60-minute sessions of stretching my body in ways I didn’t even know it could twist, I could barely simmer down my mind, much less press pause on the overflowing thoughts.

My mom’s advice? Keep rolling out the mat.

So, that’s what I did.

And now?

I’m having a yoga love affair.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am by no means a yogi. More like a wannabe-yogi. But, there is just something about this mind-body workout that I can’t get enough of. The balance I am beginning to feel both on and off the mat is so soothing. All I want is more.

But, as we all know, more yoga means more money. Yoga classes in San Francisco can be so expensive, with prices upward of $20 a class. Unfortunately, with the amount I want to attend, that price-tag is a bit too hefty for my budget.

Yet somehow, it’s as if the yoga gods were looking down on me calling my name, because I recently stumbled upon Yoga To The People. Have you heard of it? It’s a donation-based yoga studio with a mission to make yoga available to everyone!!

And, the best part? It’s located in a breathtaking 5th floor loft area in the Mission District. I honestly had never seen such an incredible space. With the rush of morning light reflecting through the floor-to-ceiling windows, I can’t think of a more beautiful way to begin a new day. Can you!?

If you’re in the SF area and are looking to get your yoga on, I highly recommend checking out YTTP. Classes take place all throughout the day, every day of the week., which makes this place supppperrr convenient. And, you can even rent a mat at the studio.

Along with YTTP, below are even more donation-based yoga studio in SF:
