My brain has officially entered panic mode. Labor Day is only a few days away, which means summer is rapidly coming to a close. Yes, yes, I am a fan of fall, lover of all things pumpkin, and adore my share of oversized cardigans, but that doesn’t mean I’m exactly ready for a season change. That being said, I am on a mission to soak up as much summer sun as possible. Aka squeezing in as many summer activities as possible, sipping on as many fruity drinks as possible, and practically living outdoors as much as possible. We’ve got less than four weeks until the official first day of fall, so come on people, we can do this!
About a week ago, Derek and I successfully utilized a “summer Friday” to its fullest. We finished the day of by sipping on some drinks aboard The “Honorable William Wall,” the floating clubhouse of the Manhattan Yacht Club. I had never even heard about this anchored boat, but a coworker of mine said it was a summer must! As soon as we arrived, I could see why this place was so highly recommended. It provided the PERFECT view of the city skyline. Anchored in the New York Harbor just north of Ellis Island, we had a stunning backdrop of the Financial District, along with the Statue of Liberty standing tall to our right.
It was the perfect fix for any summer blues that rippled through my mind. As long as I have a few more memorable summer days as this one, I’ll gladly welcome fall with open arms. But like I said, Mother Nature, just give me a few more weeks!
