Well, August has officially slipped through my finger tips. I keep asking myself how it’s already [basically] the 9th month out of the year, but it really shouldn’t be such a shocker. Time always finds a way to fly. Since the weeks of summer keep zipping by, I figured it was only fitting for a new “Life Lately” post. So, without further ado, here is a short recap of what’s been going on in New York…
A couple weeks back, Derek and I grabbed brunch at the incredibly charming, Iris Cafe in Brooklyn Heights. Tucked away on a quiet side street, this place was truly a hidden gem.
Talk about some enchantment. Brooklyn sure knows how to mesmerize on a whole new level.
For months, my friend told me we had to check out the Brooklyn Farmacy. Ah, this adorable old-timey soda fountain stole my heart. Why did it take us so long to come here?!
And how could I ever forget this caramel, pretzel sundae?! Creamy vanilla-bean ice-cream resting on a bed of warm, crushed pretzels with gooey, sweet caramel drizzled on top.
Derek and I took the long way home one morning after brunch and stumbled upon this pink beauty. Just look at those shutters. For a second, I thought we were back in New Orleans!
We finally made time for a movie in the park. I mean, you can’t really pass up a free showing of Footloose!!
Street art at its finest…
With temps soaring in the upper 80’s, there’s been lots of stops for ice coffee lately.
Not to mention all the various happy hours.
Two weeks ago, my friend, Kim, and I were feeling adventurous and bought a groupon for an intro to aerial silks. Let me just say, A LOT harder than it looks.
We’re trying to hold a tight grip to these last four weeks of summer.
Ah, even typing that is unbelievable.
Cheers to a lot more rooftop happy-hours, summer nights in the park, and outdoor seating!!
