About a month ago, Derek and I went into the city for a sushi & dumpling cooking class. Talk about fun. Taking a cooking class has been on our NYC Bucket List for quite some time, so when we read about Taste Buds Kitchen, we knew this was the perfect opportunity.
Not only did we learn how to make an amazing [and delicious] sushi roll, and steam some scrumptious veggie-filled dumplings, but we found out how easy it all is! Basically, all you need is a bamboo roller (like this one), and steamer (like here). Combine that with some sticky rice & creativity, and viola — you’ve got yourself a tasty Asian inspired meal.
These photos don’t give our dumplings enough justice.
We. Couldn’t. Stop. Eating.
We stuffed our rolls with everything & anything you could imagine.
From carrots & cucumbers, to avocados & even sweet potatoes, these things were basically burrito rolls!
The best part of the night – we made so much, we had sushi to go!
We were paired with the nicest couple, too. These two knew how to make a killer dipping sauce. Hmm, I can still taste it.
Thanks again Taste Buds Kitchen, for such a fun evening!
