Last weekend was a whirlwind. We moved apartments. In one day might I add. While it sounds like an easy task, I never would have thought it would have been such a chore. Talk about a thorn in your side. If it taught Derek and I anything, it’s that we do not need to buy a single thing this entire year. Nada. Nothing what so ever! I’m officially including that in my new year’s resolutions.
Despite all the weekend chaos, the light at the end of the tunnel was taking time to ice skate at Bryant Park. We had been talking about going before Christmas, but with all the tourist crowds lining up to do the exact same thing, that just did not happen. And man was it worth the wait. When we went last Sunday, we didn’t have to wait a single minute. We just went straight out onto the ice!
Derek and I had been ice skating in Central Park before, but never in Bryant Park. Last time we made it to this area was for the outdoor movie series this past summer. Geez, talk about time flying! There was something so magical about being amongst all the sky scrapers. And with the Empire State building in the background, well it just doesn’t get much better than that.
Grace was here this past weekend to help with the move, so her visit just made the days that more fun! This girl, I don’t know what I’d do without her. She knows exactly what to do to make you feel like a kid again. So much random laughter filled the air these couple of days, and I loved every minute of it.
Once again, I’m finding myself counting down until the weekend. I know, I know. That’s not a good thing, but I’m so excited for a few days off to finally transform the new apartment into our own humble abode. So that means a few runs to Ikea and Target will be on the weekend agenda. But that also means I’ll have lots of pictures to upload and share!
