Maine, Day Three

Back in the planning stages of our trip, one of Derek’s coworkers mentioned how we just had to visit the Botanical Gardens before returning from Maine. And boy am I glad we took the time to make that detour. It would have been a huge regret if we hadn’t.

It was hard for me to blink my eyes with all the beauty taking place around us. From the fiery bolts of red, to the golden hues of yellow and orange, the trees certainly spoiled us with the perfect fall foliage. I have no doubt in my mind we picked the best weekend to venture Maine. And hiking all over the gardens proved it.

There was something about this place that was just so enchanting. Definitely easy on the eyes. Even the air had a unique, sweet aroma. But enough of me yapping, I’ll let my photos tell the rest of the story.

Pumpkins everywhere. Which in my mind, is the only way it ought to be in fall.

See what I mean about color. Literally everything was exploding with those fall pigments your eyes just crave for around this season!

And then there was this sweet little playhouse that stole my heart.

Best part of the day hands-down was watching Derek become a kid again playing in this treehouse!

Ah and that clean, salt-water air that filled every harbor we visited. That smell could never get old.

So thank you, Maine. Thank you for providing us with a weekend full of adventure. Such a beautiful, vibrant and personable state! One we’ll definitely be visiting again someday.
