Have you heard of Humans of New York, aka #HONY? If so, yeah! If not, well you’re missing out.
So basically back in 2010, Brandon Stanton set out to photograph 10,000 random strangers in New York. But in the midst of that, he took his idea in a completely different direction. He began collecting quotes and short stories about the people he met and photographed, and then shared them on his blog.
Long story short, Humans of New York has now grown into something much larger. It’s now known worldwide, and he even turned his four-year-journey into a best-selling book, Humans of New York!
As you can suspect, I’m a very big fan of #HONY! So when I saw that Brandon was coming to speak about his new book, Little Humans, at Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn, I just knew I had to attend!
Best part of the night: Definitely had to be the book signing. It was such a pleasure to actually meet him! Better yet, he was such a nice and humble guy.
The night ended with one heck of a happy hour at Jack the Horse Tavern. Such a charming hole-in-the-wall bar, and with $5 specials including the some of the best mac-n-cheese I’ve ever tasted, I think it’s safe to say this was one successful day!
