Just as I mentioned Friday, Claire came up to visit us here in the city last weekend. And just as any other, the weekend flew by. It was so much fun to have her here, even if just for a few days. Twas a nice little taste of home.
I think it’d be safe to say we maximized her time here with exploring. Below are some pictures I took during the moments I remembered to bring out my camera. But be warned, it’s a bit picture-overload.
Friday night started with a long catch-up over some sangria at a little dive bar in Brooklyn.
Then came Saturday morning brunch at Penelope’s. This was our first time eating here, and by the looks of this sandwich below, we were not disappointed.
All the cakes, scones and pastries were so, so tempting.
We even stopped by the farmer’s market in Union Square. No matter how many times I walk through the rows of vendors, the colors of all the fresh fruits/veggies are always so inspiring!
Next stop was the High Line in Chelsea. The absolute best park in the sky.
Then there was more food. But come on. You can’t see a Billy’s Bakery and not stop in!
One of my favorite moments of the weekend was listening to jazz at Rue B’s in the East Village. Not to mention this place had an amazing happy hour!
Meaning, we stayed for quite a while.
And then more coffee.
Of course, there was some antiquing that took place too. We had to take her by Trailer Park!
And then more food.
We embraced our inner florida-granny when we stopped by The Royal Palms to play shuffleboard.
This was our first time playing, but definitely won’t be the last.
So. Much. Fun!
Apparently, this place is known for it’s famous flamingo wallpaper in the bathrooms.
And lastly, Claire’s trip wouldn’t have been complete without taking her to Milon for a crazy, fun Indian experience! The food was delicious. The decorations were even better!
We miss you already Claire!
