Eating Our Way Through New York: Part I

I’ve always heard New York is a foodie’s paradise. Whatever your taste buds are craving – at any given time of day – it can most likely be found on any nearby street corner. And lately, it’s been my pleasure discovering that is the honest truth here in this city. While Derek and I found some mighty delicious brunch spots, we’ve certainly had fun exploring a bunch of new cuisine.

Warning: the pictures below may cause mouth-watering drool…

Whether it was the perfect cappuccino from Milk Bar or the most delicious bagels from Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shop in Park Slope.

I’m talking super soft on the inside with just the right crispiness on the outside…Uh, give me one now!

Then, there was this lobster roll…

And then this perfect combination of sangria and plantain chips at Cubana Cafe!

I was super stoked to try this funky cool Bangladesh-Indian place in the East Village called Milon.

With Christmas lights in July and their BYOB policy, this made for an epic Monday night.

How can I forget about this homemade grilled cheese from Beecher’s ?

Or this mini pecan roll from the one-and-only Balthazar Bakery in the heart of Soho?

Nom Wah Tea Parlor in Chinatown brought back memories of us studying abroad in China together.

From the fresh hot tea to the fried rice and spring rolls, it was definitely a lunch filled with reminiscing.

One night we stopped by the pop-up market, Broadway Bites, and devoured one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time.

With a whole slew of vendors lined up on Broadway, it was at first hard to choose. But as soon as we saw Roberta’s, we knew it was by far the winner.

And since we just made a visit home to visit the family, how could I not post this picture of our Friday night dinner? I mean, come on.

Thanks, Mom & Dad – You really showed us what we’re missing back in NC!

And thank you, New York, for allowing us to stuff our faces for the last couple of weeks!
