As I prepare to place 2013 in my archives, I cannot help but reflect back on all the many blessings this year has provided me with. Within the last few months, I’ve managed to become a fiancé, an NCSU college graduate, and a newly New York resident. Yet, while I’m ecstatic and thankful to accept these new titles, it would be hard not to acknowledge those moments this past year that forced me to grow as an individual. Throughout these last 12 months, my family has become smaller, yet, at the same time, stronger. While we all had to say our goodbyes to two family members so dear to our hearts, we all managed to overcome these struggles with the strength and support of each other and our faith. And that to me, is the definition of growth.
Yes, change would probably be the best word to describe these last 365 days. But with the new year upon us, it’s time to look towards the future, and it’s looking like 2014 will be another milestone! For starters, I will finally be able to launch my career in NYC (let’s hope for sooner rather than later), and then later in the year I’ll be having to adjust myself to signing a new name (eek!). While I hate to see this year go, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ready for 2014 to begin!
