Sailing Around New York

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – there’s just something about New York that draws me in. The more I’m here, the more I learn. And what I’ve found out is this city encompasses many emotions. While it may be an aesthetic and wicked disaster to some, to others, it’s an artistic wonder.

I was able to see this side of New York when Derek and I set sail aboard an architectural tour Sunday. This 2.5 hour long excursion was an enchanting, eye-opening experience. With a glass of champagne in one hand, and my camera ready in my other, it was thoroughly enjoyable traveling along 32 miles of the Hudson River, listening to the city’s transformation.

East Side. West Side. Harlem, Brooklyn & The Bronx. We were able to see it all. And just like that, my appreciation became even deeper. While the cruise ended back at Pier 62 in Chelsea, in a way, it didn’t. See now, I’ve added even more items of interest I need to further explore – just this time on solid land.
